B. Lee Black has been President of NMBF and CFC since 1981.  Prior to that he was a stockbroker for Rauscher-Pierce Refsnes, Inc.  Mr. Black oversees the entire Foundation and Church Loan Corporation operation and has specific responsibilities for the investments, trust management and church finance divisions of NMBF.  Mr. Black is a member of Hoffmantown Church, Albuquerque.

Martha Speakman joined the Foundation team in April 2000. She serves as the Church Finance Administrator which includes church loan origination and processing. Mrs. Speakman also oversees the scholarships. Prior to coming to NMBF, Mrs. Speakman worked in banking, private and public accounting, non-profit and government venues. Mrs. Speakman has been a member of Hoffmantown Church, Albuquerque, since 1989.


Sharon Glaser, Treasurer

Ms. Glaser came to the Foundation in May 2001. Prior to working at NMBF, she worked in banking for 25 years. Ms. Glaser is currently a member at Monterey Baptist Church where she has served as bookkeeper since 1997.


Jessica Dotson, Information Services Specialist

Miss Dotson has been on staff at the Foundation since February 1998. She came from working at First Baptist Church, Albuquerque. She is currently a member at Hoffmantown Church. Miss Dotson manages the Foundation's computer system. She also designs all publications, cordinates special events, and plans the board meetings.

Mrs. Abbey first came to the Foundation in 1988 and permanently joined the staff in 1996. She has been a member at Hoffmantown Church since 1981 where she served as a full-time volunteer before coming to the Foundation. Mrs. Abbey also has worked as a kindergarden teacher.

Rev. Storm began volunteering at the Foundation in 1998. He has been a member of Highland Baptist Church since 1981 where he served as Educational Director for five years. After leaving the church, Rev. Storm served for ten years as Mission Service Coordinator. Rev. Storm retired as the Director of the Education Division of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico in 1981.

Directors  
Kenneth (Ken) Abbott retired President and Chief Executive Officer of Southwest Canners. He was also the executive Vice President and General Manager of CocaCola, Amarillo. Ken serves as the chairman of the Finance Committee at Hoffmantown Church, Albuquerque, where he is curently a member. Ken joined the Board in 2002.

Oliver (Ollie) Allred retired as Senior Vice President and Executive Trust Officer of Sunwest Bank in 1995.  He currently holds the position of Fiduciary Consultant for DataCom.  Mr. Allred, who came on board in 1987, is a member of First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, where he serves as a deacon.

C.B. (Charlie) Batsel has been an independent businessman with New York Life Insurance for 21 years.  A charter member of Sandia Baptist Church, Albuquerque, Mr. Batsel is a church trustee and currently serves as church moderator.  He is also a faithful choir member.  Mr. Batsel has been on the board since 1985.

Rena Bulsterbaum is a Real estate broker and President of Sun Crest Realty Inc. in Deming. She is a member at First Baptist Church where she serves as a Sunday School Teacher. Rena joined the board in 2002.

Joseph S. Coey is the former president and CEO of the New Mexico Educators Credit Union where he served for 26 years.  Mr. Coey also served as an investment portfolio manager.  He is a member of Hoffmantown Church, Albuquerque. Mr. Coey came on the board in 1999.

Claude W. Cone is the Executive Director of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico.  Dr. Cone was employed by the State Convention in 1985 after spending over 28 years in the pastorate.  Dr. Cone is a member of First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, and was elected to the board in 1985.

James Francis is a certified puplic accountant at Johnson Miller and Company, Hobbs. He is a member at First Baptist Church. James has been on the board since 2001.

Hunter Geer is a retired real estate attorney. He is a member at First Baptist Church, Albuquerque. Hunter served on the board from 1987-1995 and began serving again in 2001.

Richard Gomez is a trustee and treasurer of First Spanish Baptist Church, Albuquerque. He completed two terms as President of the NM Spanish Baptist Convention in 1999.  Mr. Gomez is a retired pharmacist and currently serves as the volunteer coordinator for the Baptist Convention of New Mexico. Richard joined the board in 1999.

Ed Laughlin retired as President of Energy Optics, Las Cruces. He is a member at Vista Grande Church, Sandia Park. Ed served on the board from 1983-1988 and began serving again in 2000.

Knute H. Lee, Jr. is an Independent Landman involved in oil, gas and mineral exploration.  He is also owner and operator of KHL, Inc, a family owned oil and gas company.  Knute  is a member of Hoffmantown Church, Albuquerque, where he serves as on the Board of trustees and as Chairman of the Personnel Committee.  He has served on the board since 1999.

Robert Martin is President of C.A. Properties and R.E. Martin Investments.  A retired Brigadier General with the New Mexico Air National Guard, Gen. Martin is a member of First Baptist Church, Albuquerque.  He serves as deacon and teaches adult Sunday School.  Gen. Martin was elected to the board in 1994.

Randy Patterson is a Petroleum Landman for Yates Petroleum Corporation, Artesia. Randy is a member at First Baptist Church and joined the board in 2002.

Sara Preston, an accountant by trade, served with her husband, John Preston, at Emmanuel Baptist Church until he retired. She currently attends Mountain Vista Baptist Church, Farmington. Sara served on the board from 1989-1997 and began serving again in 2002.

Tim Reyes is the pastor of Mesilla Valley Baptist Church and Lead Tech and carpenter for NEWTEC. Time joined the board in 2002.

Rusty Shaffer, Vice Chairman, retired from Flatow, Moore, Shaffer and McCabe in 1998.  Mr. Shaffer is a charter member of Del Norte Baptist Church, Albuquerque, where he has served as deacon and Sunday School Director. Mr. Shaffer first served on the board in 1988.

Beverly Spellbring is an insurance agent for New York Life Insurance.  Mrs. Spellbring is a member at First Baptist Church, Farmington, where she teaches Sunday School and Mission Friends.  She was elected to the board in 1998.

Herb Steves, Secretary, retired from Conoco, Inc. where he was Vice President of Operations in Norway.  He is a member of Angel Fire Baptist Church where he is a "servant" (in place of deacon).  Mr. Steves first served on the Board in 1989.

Charles Stockton is an investment counselor at Nations Bank Investments, Clovis.  He is a member of Central Baptist Church, Clovis, where he has served as deacon and is currently teaching Sunday School.  Mr. Stockton was elected to the board in 1998.

  Earl Wallin is retired as president of Alamogordo Federal Savings and Loan Corporation.  A member of Bethel Baptist Church, Alamogordo, Mr. Wallin serves as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  Mr. Wallin first served on the Board in 1992.

The New Mexico Baptist Foundation exists to serve the Believers as they provide for Baptist work and other Christian ministries in New Mexico and around the world.

Organizational Objectives

* Provide More Funds for Ministry - Increase income from investments,
write grants, and expand Investment Agreement Program.
* Improve Image - Increase awareness of organization and services.
* Increase Church Finance Services - Develop strategic alliances
resulting in alternative sources and methods of financing for evangelical
churches.
* Develop Well Trained Ministry Team - Utilize volunteers and paid staff.
* Increase Funding for Operations - Achieve financial self-sufficiency.
