Creative
Estate Planning-Wills and Trusts
What
is estate planning? If you have possessions, you have an estate.
Their orderly care during your lifetime represents financial management.
Their disposition after your lifetime is called estate settlement.
Deciding in advance how this will be done is known as estate planning.
It's that simple.
And
yet, for many reasons, it's easy to put off estate planning.
Today's challenges compete for our attention. Contemplating
one's demise is an unpleasant subject, so we procrastinate.
Unaware of the many benefits of estate planning, we may forestall
action. Concern about fees for professional counsel also encourages
delay.
None
of these reasons diminishes the critical importance of estate planning.
Failure to provide for the future can deny those you care about
the benefit of your hard work. On the other hand, a creative
estate plan will assure that:
- your
personal and family needs are met now
- your
surviving dependents will live comfortably
- your
assets will be managed prudently
- your
estate will avoid unnecessary costs and taxes
- your
arrangements will perpetuate your lifetime giving
In
this conference, we'll discuss the steps you should follow in putting
together an estate plan that meets your goals. We'll warn
you about dangerous misconceptions. You'll learn the key facts
about wills and trusts. You'll find out how you can reduce
or even avoid estate taxes. And you'll discover how estate
planning can enable you to manage you investments more profitably
now!

Investments
Financial
goal-setting is an intensely personal affair that will be guided
by your own style and preferences. But if you set nebulous,
generalized goals, such as "financial security" or "a
comfortable retirement," you're going to have trouble measuring
your progress along the way.
There
are no "right" or "wrong" investment goals.
They can be what ever you want them to be and naturally will be
influenced by your income and job security, your ability to take
risks, your age and your financial prospects in general.
This
conference will help church members learn to set short-term and
long-term goals by looking at investment:
- Type
- Risk
- Growth
Potential
- Yield
While
this conference does not specifically suggest what individuals
should invest in, it does educate on what is available and who,
within the community, would be able to assist the individual.
Wednesday

Wednesday Evening - "Investment Conference"

- Travel expenses and honorarium for speaker.
